Thank you to everyone who made it to Grange Park on Saturday.

We showed huge commitment and passion right from the first whistle, catching Harrogate off guard with our pace and skill particularly in the ruck, and having had a great first game at Roundhegians last week, the team built on the momentum even further.

The wolves were aggressive in attack putting multiple phases together with most visits into Harrogate territory resulting in a score.

Defensively this was one of the stronger performances from the team with great success at the breakdown and the counter-rucking resulting in a number of turnovers.

As always there are areas for us a coaches to work on, however, to have the Harrogate parents comment that ‘Wetherby have stepped up a gear this season’ is a real testament to the team and the effort that they are putting in.

Matches are longer, more physical and faster and the heart the team showed in the last quarter was exceptional given the huge effort they’d already put in!

We hope it was as good to watch as it was to play/coach. The support that you as parents give not just to your own kids but the wider team is a real mark of the community and culture we’re building.

Thank you again and here’s to another great weeekend ahead away at pontefract.
