The game started quite lively with both sides running the ball in hard to their opposite numbers. The wind was also making life difficult for the hookers at the lineout, and things started to get scrappy. After some sustained pressure from the crusaders Marcus Little managed to breach the defence and score with a powerful run and dive. Matty Finch couldn't make the conversion count, but it put Morley into action. When they ran the restart almost straight over our line, but for some scrambled tackles from the Wetherby defence they would have been over. The lead didn’t last long and soon they were on level terms breaking down the right and over the line.

Wetherby fought straight back though and but for the spirited defence we would have been over again. The defense couldn’t hold on forever though and after great work from the forwards Micky Youlden flashed out a quick ball, Harry Kaye playing at 10 for a change kept the move going and Rob Horsfall came in from full back to score.

That ended the first half.

The second half started lively, and some great rucking from the forwards gave us the pressure that we needed, Harry Kaye spotted that their full back was out of position and chipped over the top, Mike Hawley had spotted this and charged their last man for the ball, he got a boot to it and it bounced perfectly for him to get his first try of the season.
From the restart Wetherby were yet again under some sustained pressure and some missed tackles in the centre of the park led to another try for the home side which they converted. From the restart they were back in our territory and on winning a penalty decided to kick which went over.

From the restart the Wetherby pack started to really show their dominance with a series of scrums being taken against the head, culminating in Marcus Little’s second try of the game picking and going from the back of a 5m scrum.
