Wetherby 2nd team put in another strong performance against Selby 5ths at home and came out eventual winners scoring 17 points to Selby’s 12. Selby scored two quick tries shortly after the start sparking fears of a reversal of the previous weeks score.

Wetherby however dug deep and with to some strong play in the forwards and backs pulled the score back to 5-12 at the break thanks to a good drive over the line by Jim Leigh. In the second half strong defence from the home team held the visitors to 12 points. George Gilbert scored a charge down try and Paul Hill was released in the backs to score under the posts.
