The new coaching team has prepared the team well with summer fitness training under Frank Pitchford; Mike McHugh and Rob Adair.
It took only 2 minutes to score the first of 16 Red's tries when Barney Roberts went over and was soon followed by 2 more by Conor Sheridan. Rob Adair had a hand in one and then ran half the length of the field for another. The forwards were making good ground regularly with Elliot Griffiths, Steve Hoather and Will Dutton prominent. Liam Hogan scored next following a rare try by Knaresborough. The next score got the biggest cheer of the day when young debutant Gaz Perkins showed his speed and skill outpacing Knaresborough's defence from well inside his own half.
He followed up with another 2 minutes later finishing off an excellent handling move by the Red's backs.
The half time score was 48 - 5 but the Reds didn't let up , scoring 5 more tries in a 12 minute spell. Barney Roberts added 2 more to his total as did Conor Sheridan with Rob Adair adding his second.
The scoring was rounded off with tries by Gianluca Letizia, Tom Bottomley and David Adair. Thanks to 12 successful conversions from Connor Sheridan the final score was a record equalling 104 - 5.
