They started in the 10th minute when good passing put youngster Will Jefferson in for a score which Alex Dus converted.
Jack Wray followed this after a good forward drive when he forced his way over wide out. The Reds kept throwing the ball about and Robbie Hardy made it three tries after half an hour which Alex Dus again converted.
At half time the score was 17 -0 but immediately after the Wenslseydale full back scythed through t he Wetherby defence running almost the length of the field. The Reds hit back quickly when nice handling created another try.
The visitors came back and exerted some pressure on the home line. Craig Lovelock, the Man of the Match, cleared with a kick which didn’t go into touch but bounced kindly for the Wetherby full back Jack Kaye who collected the ball and ran 50 meters to score a converted try.
Wetherby completed their scoring after 57 minutes when Robbie Hardy collected a clearance from Wensleydale and ran hard forcing his way over under the posts, Alex Dus obliged with the kick.
The hosts then switched off and Wensleydale ran in 2 good tries. They were able to win most of the possession at the rucks and mauls and Wetherby gave away endless penalties particularly for handling in the ruck.
Next week the Reds go to York R I for the first time for many years for a league game.
