The social media has in recent weeks been suggesting that Skipton were mad keen on spoiling Wetherby's perfect season. They had given Wetherby a hard game earlier in the season and they could have chosen the right weekend with Wetherby having several regulars unavailable. However it was not to be in a one sided contest where the Reds racked up 63 unanswered points.

Straight from the kick off Wetherby blitzed the visitors with 2 tries in the first 10 minutes of the game and the procession continued at regular intervals. The half time score was 42- nil . So the second half played under a hot sun was played at a lower tempo finishing with 63 points.. Skipton barely saw the home half of the field until the last 10 minutes of the game but this great side showed how good they are defensively keeping a clean sheet.

Andrew Trotman grabbed a brace of tries, whilst Rob Adair, Jack Kaye, Myles Oates, Elliott Griffiths and George Gilbert all grabbed one apiece ; Conor Sheriden was top scorer with a hat trick of tries and 4 conversions. Man of the match , debutant Victor Vergens capped his first game with a try.

So far so good with one game to play to create a perfect record of victories in all league games which is at Ossett next Saturday with Championship celebrations at Grange Park afterwards !
