Wetherby ran riot in the local derby against Knaresborough running in 14 tries and 10 conversions to complete a second victory over them this season.
Within a quarter of an hour they had earned their bonus point for scoring 4 tries. The first from a flowing move enabling Rob Adair to score. Myles Oates started and finished the second with Jack Kaye and Conor Sheriden completing the four.
Jonny Wheatley scored next and Conor Sheriden followed him which he converted along with four others. Before half time Jonny Wheatley scored his second and David Adair got one. So the half time score was 54 - 0
Conor Sheriden continued to sparkle going on to score 6 tries in all and kicking 10 conversions in the game. To their credit Knaresborough stuck at it tightening things up for a while after the break. Their forwards made it more difficult for the Reds scoring 2 tries and converting one. However Wetherby's pace was too much for the visitors although the several substitutions Wetherby made seemed to disrupt their fluency and control as did the sin binning of one of the home forwards.
Overall this was a thumping victory and the Reds first half display was a most complete performance. Their pace and support play was superb to which Knaresborough had no answer.
So with 10 league victories from 10 league games they go to Skipton next week for the first time in many years.
