Wetherby went straight on the attack and at the first scrum they shunted Hornsea back 30 yards . Some thing they repeated at almost every scrum. This set up their first of 12 tries when the pack set up a maul and scored a pushover try. Their second try on 10 minutes was a beauty . Tom Hicks picked up a loose ball and broke through. He handed on to Rob Adair whose chip ahead was fielded by Myles Oates who when tackled found hooker Steve Hoather in support to run in from 20 yards for a converted try.
Five minutes later a lovely move by the backs enabled David Adair to squeeze in at the corner. They repeated the move soon afterwards and David Adair got his second try. Connor Sheriden
converted this and then two minutes later scored himself and added the conversion. The Reds pack again caused havoc with the Hollismen scrum and Connor Sheriden , travelling at speed rounded the home defence to score again and added the goal.
So at half time Wetherby were 38 points up but they didn't let up and from their own line the set Connor Sheriden off on a 50 yard run. He found Tom Hicks up with him to finish off the move . The goal was added. The procession continued when Wetherby took a Hornsea line out and their rolling maul enabled the young Alex Hills to score his first try for the Club. The Reds had made several substitutions to afford some young players experience including Joe Rothwell on debut.
On 54 minutes George Gilbert who had an excellent game scored another push over try. Then the improving Will Jefferson got on the end of a passing movement to force his way over which Alex Dus converted. Wetherby finished the game with two further tries by Rob Adair and the evergreen Nick Oates to take the final score to 76 - Nil.
There is no league game next week so the Reds can rest up for their home league fixture against neighbours Knaresborough in two week time.
