Wetherby run in ten tries in 60-0 win.

Wetherby's front eight provide a huge platform in ten try win.

Wetherby came back to form with a 10 try victory over Hornsea.

From almost their first touch of the ball Wetherby scored when Connor Sheriden fielded a kick and carved his way through a hesitant defence. He put Barney Roberts in for an excellent try converted by Alex Dus.

Andy Trotman then charged down a clearance kick, recovered the ball and ran in close to the posts to which Alex Dus added the points.

The Wetherby forwards were enjoying themselves now and hammered away at the Hornsea line. First James Gibson was denied then Elliot Griffiths barrelled his way over.

Continuing their assault on the visitors try line Taff Olte emerged from the bottom of a driving maul having scored.

The scoring continued when the promising young Will Jefferson set up an attack which enabled Andy Trotman to force his way over.

Hornsea now lifted their game and went on a rare period of attack but the Reds defence held firm and Wetherby finished the half when Paul Martinski scored after some great handling.

Wetherby opened the scoring in the second half when Liam Hogan drove into the heart of the visitors defence enabling the backs to put Connor Sheriden in for his second try which Alex Dus converted.

A Hornsea attack broke down with a dropped pass which Barney Roberts picked up and raced 40 meters before giving Andy Trotman an easy run in.

The best try of the game came next when Tom Edwards broke through at speed and then crisp handling by the supporting hooker Sean Lally passing on to Will Jefferson who scored his first try for the reds. Ales Dus obliged with the conversion.

The final score came from good handling by the backs as the ball spun right across the line. Andy Trotman fainted to go inside taking the cover with him only to give Paul Martinski the scoring pass.

Special mention to Elliot Griffiths, Paul Martinkski and Will Jefferson scoring their first tries for the club.

A much improved display this week especially from the scrums and lineouts . the Reds visit to Hessle next Saturday give another winning opportunity.
