The weather conditions were atrocious but credit to both teams for their handling and catching.
Wetherby took the lead with an Alex Dus penalty and went further ahead with a brilliant solo try by Connor Sheriden who took on the whole of the Sheffield Oaks team running from his own 22 yard line to score. Oaks replied with a penalty before half time.
The second half proved difficult for the Reds whose scrum was dominated by the home side. Consequently Wetherby has few opportunities to attack.
Sheffield increased the pressure and despite Wetherby’s great hearted defence Oaks scored the winning try 10 minutes from time.
