Welcome to the Wetherby RUFC U12’s homepage!
As part of a thriving rugby club with great facilities and a very strong mini and junior sections, we are delighted to have a friendly and committed squad of Under 12 players turning out to train and play each week. We are fortunate to have a large coaching and support team that ensures an excellent coach to player ratio. Our coaching team, led by Andy Hewitt, hold a range of qualifications including Rugby Ready, RFU Level One Coaching, RFU Level Two Refereeing, as well as numerous professional development courses.
Our over-riding objective is to ensure that all the players learn to play rugby in a safe, friendly, supportive and fun environment. Our focus is on the children enjoying sport and players of all levels of experience are welcome. Our coaching philosophy is based upon inclusivity and development of the individual. Individual development plans will be produced and personal goals discussed, agreed, and reviewed on a regular basis. Our squads are always made up of a mixture of talent and ability, and all players get an equal amount of game time and training. Whilst inclusive in approach we remain a competitive team with a desire to compete and win. To achieve this we need players to show dedication, commitment, and a desire to succeed. We are committed to instilling and upholding the RFU’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship.
During the season the Under 12s train from 6.30pm to 7.45pm every Thursday at Grange Park, Wetherby. On Sunday mornings, we usually have matches against other clubs, either at home or away, as shown on the fixture list on this website. If you’re not sure, why not just drop by on a Thursday evening to meet the coaches, support staff, and players.
We are always delighted to welcome new players of any level of experience or ability and at any stage of the season. For further details please contact the U12’s Team Manager - Lisa Marr on 07788 269519 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
