So, what is Grange Park Sports Club?
As I visit the clubs, I am frequently asked: What is Grange Park Sports Club? In essence, it is the organistation which looks after the Grange Park site for the member clubs. The sports club was founded circa 1985 when the Hudson family provided a parcel of land to be shared by Wetherby RUFC and Wetherby Cricket Club ("the member clubs").
All members of the clubs automatically become members of Grange Park. On a day to day basis, the sports club is run by a committee which is made up of equal members from each club, giving everyone a say in the running of Grange Park
At the end of 2010, the Rugby and Cricket clubs voted to invite Kirk Deighton Rangers Junior Football Club, to join Grange Park Sports Club. Rod Clifton, Brian Colling and Nicky Holliday from the football club have now been co-opted onto the management committee and we are currently working through the legal process of changing our constitution. This will result in Kirk Deighton Rangers JFC formally joining Grange Park Sports Club during March 2011 as full and equal partners with the Rugby and Cricket clubs.
